The burden basket was originally a tool that was used on an everyday basis for carrying kindling and other items that were required for life at home. At the end of the day the basket was hung outside the entryway of the home and the contents were brought inside for the enjoyment of all within.
This version of the burden basket is meant to remind us that when we enter our own homes or the home of another , that we should leave the burdens of the day outside, bringing in only peace and contentment that a home should be filled with.
We must remind ourselves that when we enter a home we should be considerate of those within and leave negativity at the door. Work hard, live well and enjoy life!
